(창 27:41, 개정) 그의 아버지가 야곱에게 축복한 그 축복으로 말미암아 에서가 야곱을 미워하여 심중에 이르기를 아버지를 곡할 때가 가까웠은즉 내가 내 아우 야곱을 죽이리라 하였더니
(창 27:42, 개정) 맏아들 에서의 이 말이 리브가에게 들리매 이에 사람을 보내어 작은 아들 야곱을 불러 그에게 이르되 네 형 에서가 너를 죽여 그 한을 풀려 하니
(창 27:43, 개정) 내 아들아 내 말을 따라 일어나 하란으로 가서 내 오라버니 라반에게로 피신하여
(창 27:44, 개정) 네 형의 노가 풀리기까지 몇 날 동안 그와 함께 거주하라
(창 27:45, 개정) 네 형의 분노가 풀려 네가 자기에게 행한 것을 잊어버리거든 내가 곧 사람을 보내어 너를 거기서 불러오리라 어찌 하루에 너희 둘을 잃으랴
(창 27:46, 개정) 리브가가 이삭에게 이르되 내가 헷 사람의 딸들로 말미암아 내 삶이 싫어졌거늘 야곱이 만일 이 땅의 딸들 곧 그들과 같은 헷 사람의 딸들 중에서 아내를 맞이하면 내 삶이 내게 무슨 재미가 있으리이까
(창 28:1, 개정) 이삭이 야곱을 불러 그에게 축복하고 또 당부하여 이르되 너는 가나안 사람의 딸들 중에서 아내를 맞이하지 말고
(창 28:2, 개정) 일어나 밧단아람으로 가서 네 외조부 브두엘의 집에 이르러 거기서 네 외삼촌 라반의 딸 중에서 아내를 맞이하라
(창 28:3, 개정) 전능하신 하나님이 네게 복을 주시어 네가 생육하고 번성하게 하여 네가 여러 족속을 이루게 하시고
(창 28:4, 개정) 아브라함에게 허락하신 복을 네게 주시되 너와 너와 함께 네 자손에게도 주사 하나님이 아브라함에게 주신 땅 곧 네가 거류하는 땅을 네가 차지하게 하시기를 원하노라
(창 28:5, 개정) 이에 이삭이 야곱을 보내매 그가 밧단아람으로 가서 라반에게 이르렀으니 라반은 아람 사람 브두엘의 아들이요 야곱과 에서의 어머니 리브가의 오라비더라
(창 28:6, 개정) 에서가 본즉 이삭이 야곱에게 축복하고 그를 밧단아람으로 보내어 거기서 아내를 맞이하게 하였고 또 그에게 축복하고 명하기를 너는 가나안 사람의 딸들 중에서 아내를 맞이하지 말라 하였고
(창 28:7, 개정) 또 야곱이 부모의 명을 따라 밧단아람으로 갔으며
(창 28:8, 개정) 에서가 또 본즉 가나안 사람의 딸들이 그의 아버지 이삭을 기쁘게 하지 못하는지라
(창 28:9, 개정) 이에 에서가 이스마엘에게 가서 그 본처들 외에 아브라함의 아들 이스마엘의 딸이요 느바욧의 누이인 마할랏을 아내로 맞이하였더라
(Gn 27:41, NIV) Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. He said to himself, "The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob."
(Gn 27:42, NIV) When Rebekah was told what her older son Esau had said, she sent for her younger son Jacob and said to him, "Your brother Esau is consoling himself with the thought of killing you.
(Gn 27:43, NIV) Now then, my son, do what I say： Flee at once to my brother Laban in Haran.
(Gn 27:44, NIV) Stay with him for a while until your brother's fury subsides.
(Gn 27:45, NIV) When your brother is no longer angry with you and forgets what you did to him, I'll send word for you to come back from there. Why should I lose both of you in one day?"
(Gn 27:46, NIV) Then Rebekah said to Isaac, "I'm disgusted with living because of these Hittite women. If Jacob takes a wife from among the women of this land, from Hittite women like these, my life will not be worth living.“
(Gn 28:1, NIV) So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him and commanded him： "Do not marry a Canaanite woman.
(Gn 28:2, NIV) Go at once to Paddan Aram, to the house of your mother's father Bethuel. Take a wife for yourself there, from among the daughters of Laban, your mother's brother.
(Gn 28:3, NIV) May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples.
(Gn 28:4, NIV) May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now live as an alien, the land God gave to Abraham."
(Gn 28:5, NIV) Then Isaac sent Jacob on his way, and he went to Paddan Aram, to Laban son of Bethuel the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, who was the mother of Jacob and Esau.
(Gn 28:6, NIV) Now Esau learned that Isaac had blessed Jacob and had sent him to Paddan Aram to take a wife from there, and that when he blessed him he commanded him, "Do not marry a Canaanite woman,"
(Gn 28:7, NIV) and that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and had gone to Paddan Aram.
(Gn 28:8, NIV) Esau then realized how displeasing the Canaanite women were to his father Isaac;
(Gn 28:9, NIV) so he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael son of Abraham, in addition to the wives he already had.
