말씀:다윗 왕가의 어머니 밧세바
(마 1:6, 개정) 이새는 다윗 왕을 낳으니라 다윗은 우리야의 아내에게서 솔로몬을 낳고
(삼하 12:15, 개정) 나단이 자기 집으로 돌아가니라 우리아의 아내가 다윗에게 낳은 아이를 여호와께서 치시매 심히 앓는지라
(삼하 12:16, 개정) 다윗이 그 아이를 위하여 하나님께 간구하되 다윗이 금식하고 안에 들어가서 밤새도록 땅에 엎드렸으니
(삼하 12:17, 개정) 그 집의 늙은 자들이 그 곁에 서서 다윗을 땅에서 일으키려 하되 왕이 듣지 아니하고 그들과 더불어 먹지도 아니하더라
(삼하 12:18, 개정) 이레 만에 그 아이가 죽으니라 그러나 다윗의 신하들이 아이가 죽은 것을 왕에게 아뢰기를 두려워하니 이는 그들이 말하기를 아이가 살았을 때에 우리가 그에게 말하여도 왕이 그 말을 듣지 아니하셨나니 어떻게 그 아이가 죽은 것을 그에게 아뢸 수 있으랴 왕이 상심하시리로다 함이라
(삼하 12:19, 개정) 다윗이 그의 신하들이 서로 수군거리는 것을 보고 그 아이가 죽은 줄을 다윗이 깨닫고 그의 신하들에게 묻되 아이가 죽었느냐 하니 대답하되 죽었나이다 하는지라
(삼하 12:20, 개정) 다윗이 땅에서 일어나 몸을 씻고 기름을 바르고 의복을 갈아입고 여호와의 전에 들어가서 경배하고 왕궁으로 돌아와 명령하여 음식을 그 앞에 차리게 하고 먹은지라
(삼하 12:21, 개정) 그의 신하들이 그에게 이르되 아이가 살았을 때에는 그를 위하여 금식하고 우시더니 죽은 후에는 일어나서 잡수시니 이 일이 어찌 됨이니이까 하니
(삼하 12:22, 개정) 이르되 아이가 살았을 때에 내가 금식하고 운 것은 혹시 여호와께서 나를 불쌍히 여기사 아이를 살려 주실는지 누가 알까 생각함이거니와
(삼하 12:23, 개정) 지금은 죽었으니 내가 어찌 금식하랴 내가 다시 돌아오게 할 수 있느냐 나는 그에게로 가려니와 그는 내게로 돌아오지 아니하리라 하니라
(삼하 12:24, 개정) 다윗이 그의 아내 밧세바를 위로하고 그에게 들어가 그와 동침하였더니 그가 아들을 낳으매 그의 이름을 솔로몬이라 하니라 여호와께서 그를 사랑하사
(삼하 12:25, 개정) 선지자 나단을 보내 그의 이름을 여디디야라 하시니 이는 여호와께서 사랑하셨기 때문이더라
(Mt 1:6, NIV) and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah's wife,
(2Sm 12:15, NIV) After Nathan had gone home, the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife had borne to David, and he became ill.
(2Sm 12:16, NIV) David pleaded with God for the child. He fasted and went into his house and spent the nights lying on the ground.
(2Sm 12:17, NIV) The elders of his household stood beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused, and he would not eat any food with them.
(2Sm 12:18, NIV) On the seventh day the child died. David's servants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they thought, "While the child was still living, we spoke to David but he would not listen to us. How can we tell him the child is dead? He may do something desperate."
(2Sm 12:19, NIV) David noticed that his servants were whispering among themselves and he realized the child was dead. "Is the child dead?" he asked. "Yes," they replied, "he is dead."
(2Sm 12:20, NIV) Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.
(2Sm 12:21, NIV) His servants asked him, "Why are you acting this way? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept, but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat!"
(2Sm 12:22, NIV) He answered, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, 'Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.'
(2Sm 12:23, NIV) But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."
(2Sm 12:24, NIV) Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba, and he went to her and lay with her. She gave birth to a son, and they named him Solomon. The LORD loved him;
(2Sm 12:25, NIV) and because the LORD loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.
